A.rtificial I.dentitiy
Who are we and who do we want to be? Influence on these questions that we have been asking ourselves nearly forever come mostly from outside, from society. But where are the borders between what we are supposed to be and what we are, what we want to be and what we are becoming, what we love and how we hate ourselves? A.rtificial I.dentity looks at these questions by comparing a body to Mannequin, one naked, one dressed. The very human portrayal of the Mannequin contrasts here to the very primal and primitive nudes of a body that by this nearly becomes a beautiful piece of FLESH. We can identify more with the unreal, the imitating than the natural. I want to ask these questions and everyone to answer them for themselves. After all we are animals and made out of flesh. We are, unlike a Mannequin, going to die, but that is what makes us human and even death can be beautiful.
